Carhartt's Sandstone Chore coat is a legend. The bi-swing back enhances movement on the job or off. The blanket lining is great for layering on cold winter days, yet light enough to be worn in the early fall.

12-ounce, 100% cotton sandstone duck
Nylon lining quilted to polyester insulation in sleeves, blanket lining in body
Button front closure
Two-button adjustable cuff
Inside patch pocket
Two rivet-reinforced chest pockets
Two rivet-reinforced, lower front pockets
Triple-stitched main seams with metal rivets
Split-back construction
Pleated bi-swing back enhances movement
Corduroy trimmed collar with snaps under collar for optional hood

When time came to dispose of the latest in a long series of insulated flannel shirts that I had used as an extra layer over my Carhartt vests when the winter wind was blowing, I opted to see what else may work better. I selected the Carhartt chore coat since it looked more durable and would likely perform much better than the flannel. I purchased it in preparation for next winter but having checked it out and tried it on, it was the perfect choice. Since the flannel had always ended up tattered and ripped after only one winter, I know that this coat will last a whole lot longer. As far as the "runs large", that is a good thing since it fits over my Carhartt vests perfectly. I look forward to years of use.

The fit, function, quality, and durability of Carhartt Sandstone Duck clothing is unmatched by anything I have ever worn. This Chore Coat is warm, comfortable, and wind proof. It has functional pockets, provides freedom of movement to allow performing a multitude of tasks, yet still looks fashionable enough to wear out in town. I purchased this coat to replace one that has served me well for over 10 years in very harsh working conditions. I find Dungarees service to be super fast and in-stock is top-notch.

Great coat second one

Wore out my 1st one out. Coat is warmer than it looks. I wear a Carhartt sweatshirt underneath and stay warm and comfortable in 15 degree weather. It blocks the wind well too. I am 6'1" 2XL guy and I bought a XL Tall. It fits well and the jacket comes down to my butt.

My husband loves it

This is the second one I've bought my husband. The other one was over 10 years ago. He still wears it outside, but I wanted him to have a new one to wear in public. The blanket lining is so warm. Carrhart always makes quality products and this one is one of the best.

This is the coat my son, who is a hog farmer, asked for. He is very pleased with in all respects. It looks good and washes well. It has gotten softer with the first washing and still fits very well. We are happy with the coat!
