Carhartt 101474 - Oakhaven Cap

This hat seems to always fits, needs no adjustment, stays cool, keeps my head warm in cold weather, and keeps its shape. When it gets dirty just put it on a plastic hat rack/mold and put on the top rack of the dishwasher, wash it on normal wash, take it out to air dry. The hat will come out looking like new with minimal fading, and smelling like new also.

I was in the Carhartt store in Seattle and found this hat in the gravel color. I have a hard time finding fitted hats due to my head size. I tried on the Large/XLarge and it fit like a glove. After wearing it home on the trip I noticed the hat had some sweat rings that were orange. No big deal just wash the hat and I should be good. Not so. The sweat stains remained orange and actually intensified the orange more. I used this hat for a total of 10 hours. I now use it around the yard and it continues to get more orange by the day.

I've purchased several of these hats over the years and they are hands down the best. The fit and durability is exactly what I've come to expect and love about Carhartt. The only downfall is that it doesn't come in the original tan canvas color anymore.

I looked everywhere and could not find a gray Carhartt cap. I did wish it had been made to be adjustable. Goes great with my gray Carhartt coat!

The quality of the fabric is much better than recent versions of the iconic Carhartt Twill Hat. Although I would prefer the fabric to be a tad stiffer in order to hold its shape better. Logo design and stitching are well done but the front of the hat has a slight "slouch" look. I prefer a structured look. You can correct this though by wearing the hat higher on the head or even putting a thin handkerchief in the crown to add shape. Not the ideal Carhartt hat I was looking for but not bad enough to make me return it. Please bring back the older stiffer more structured models.
