Keen 1027105 - Reno KBF WP

Was hoping to get this shoe in a soft toe but they were sold out. Regardless this is a very comfortable and lightweight shoe. Another awesome product from Keen!

I started a water treatment job last year. We are required to have safety shoes. They don’t have to be steel toe or boots. I simply wanted shoes with a safety toe. Last year, I came across Invincible Shoe on Facebook. They claimed to be started by two brothers in construction jobs who were looking to make footwear that had all the features they wanted rolled into one—lightweight, stylish, durable, protective, affordable, etc etc. Well, after taking months to deliver my order (he first was lost in transit and refunded. I gave them a second chance and ordered again. They still took weeks—warehouse supply, have to use our overseas warehouses, blah blah blah). Well, the toes were a little tight, the soles wore out slick immediately, and we’re good at getting rocks stuck in them (the Excite shoe). Also claimed protection from punctures under the sole (I never tested that, but it probably was could have failed given the quantity). Recently I found Indestructible Shoe AND they have the exact same models but just more of them. Tow different companies with the same shoes? They probably are based in North America, but I’d wager they’re probably made in factories in China—EVERYBODY knows that means substandard construction! Invincible Shoe and Indestructible Shoe are overpriced garbage. With the new budget year, I made sure to do my research. Ken was at the top of the list. I selected the best seller (the Reno if I remember correctly). It’s waterproof (again, I work at a water treatment plant), has better soles, has more room, didn’t blister my ankles, safety toe—everything I need that was actually made right. It’s a fine shoe—a little on the heavy side, but I have a little wiggle room for comfort. It was a little more than I was looking to pay, but the city gives us a $125 allowance for safety shoes each budget year. The inner soles could be improved for better comfort (either that or I’m on my feet too long for 12-hour shifts). I will have to get insoles. It’s a good shoe, and sorry for the novel ;)

Nice shoes, comfortable. A little bigger than I would Like but think a size down would be too small. Carbon toe is also a little heavier than I expected.

Took about a week to break in, however now they are super comfortable. They are waterproof as well, some claim it but these really are. Happy with the purchase and the fit is true to my size of 10 1/2 W
