The USA-made Recon™ is tough and traditional in appearance, and comfortable in application. It delivers stability and support with its all-leather stitchdown construction, which provides a wider platform for increased stability underfoot. 200 G. Thinsulate™ Insulation provides warmth while a GORE-TEX® lining provides waterproof, breathable protection. Lace to toe provides a secure fit.

  • Full-grain, all-leather can be easily polished and is preferred by those in uniform and on special tactical teams due to its durability and ability to be cleaned quickly
  • 100% waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® lining for the ultimate in comfortable, breathable waterproof protection
  • Vibram® Kletterlift outsole is specifically designed for comfort and durability
  • The heel provides lightweight comfort as well as superb shock absorption

Very comfortable! Feels great on

Very comfortable! Feels great on my feet but a little long - smaller size would be too small. Worth the money! Wearing for 13+ hours walking on various ground conditions, in and out of the Tahoe and wearing all day in comfort is worth it! I love that my feet and ankles don’t hurt after work.

12 hrs comfortable out of the box. My other Danners lasted 4 years. These Recons, now 2 weeks in, and they are beautiful and strong. They are worth every penny if you demand comfort and stability.

I purchased these for a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law, so she hasn't been able to use them yet. However, I bought them based on everything that she has said about the pair that she has now. First of all, the pair that she has now, has lasted over 8 years, with every day wear, so I felt that they were worth the cost. She also said that once these boots are broken in, they are absolutely, hands down the most comfortable boots she has owned and worked in.

Great so far! Comfortable after

Great so far! Comfortable after a quick break-in, developing a good shine already after only a few coats of polish. Size was right on. I still need arch support for my high arches. Danner arch support too bulky for the boots, makes the fit too tight. Will probably order Birkenstock arch inserts.

Good boots

I bought these for my security job a few years back. They are still holding up great with buffing and polishing. I have a wider foot and found I need to take breaks in wearing them. I got a 7.5 and probably should have went to an 8 to allow a bit more room, as I got a corn on my left foot on the outside edge on the crook leading up to my pinky toe. Break in time was not too bad. The plastic inserts help a lot for your foot to breathe a bit. Unfortunately, I got atheletes foot from my husband and could barely wear them for a bit until it cleared. All in all, not good if you have a wide foot, but it was the best purchase and has held up great as far as footwear is concerned. No water gets in and insulation is a plus. Worth the money.
