First of all the look of this boot is the perfect classic north west look . To perfect this boot you need to do 4 things #1 use the better foam rubber insoles from your crater rim model .#2 sew the water proof tongue flap above or to the higher seem above the lace rings . This should fix where all theese sewing seems come together inside the boot and cause chafing on the ankle .#4 Ditch the gore-tex lining inside the boot and use padded leather in the ankle area and also heel area .Use light leather perforated inside where the outer gore-tex lining needs to breathe. Please make the changes so this boot wont chafe. Also so it can breathe properly. I lived in the north west myself and Alaska we all need a good breathable spring and summer time boot for hiking and camping. #5 Make this boot in Portland .You guys & gals make really good boots there.

Seems to be up to

Seems to be up to normal Danner highstandard, but note they are non-recraftable. Worn them a lot but have not abused them with rainy weather, so I am curious what happens to the appearence of the wool once I get them really wet. So far, so good.
