Danner 14304 - Cedar River Moc Toe Hunter

I've worn these daily at work for about a year and they have been excellent, except for the waterproofing. They've proven to be very durable (no separation in the sole, no loose stitching, overall very tough) and are comfortable as sneakers at this point. However, they have fallen short on waterproofing. Walking through thick, wet grass for more than a few minutes gets my socks wet, and it's been that way from the first 2 weeks I had them. I work outside most days on grasslands that are typically sandy, which is not very hard on the tread. I think if you wore these on rockier terrain it might chew up the shallow tread faster. The tread is great for shedding mud quickly. Fit is pretty good, but I have narrow feet and I usually lace these as tight as the uppers will allow. I would actually like to be able to lace them tighter but I'm at the limit already. I wish they had half sizes in larger sizes (12 was a bit small, 13 is a bit big, 12. 5 would be perfect).

So far the best boots Danner makes for bird hunting right behind the Canadian… I can’t say it better than the Canadian yet, but it’s giving it a run for its money!

The quality is very good here. The leather is beautiful, and the break-in has gone fairly smooth. Day(s) 1-2 are a bit rough for the uninitiated, but once everything settles in, the fit and comfort is spectacular.

Ordered these before a fishing and hiking trip to the sierra mountains. The boots preformed well. They do require a break in period but fit well right out of the box. The boots are definitely green in color and I would suggest applying water repellent to maintain the leather. Great purchase and these boots should last me years.
