Frequently Asked Questions

Created for the coldest conditions, the Yukon Extremes® line is the warmest gear Carhartt makes.

- The warmest Carhartt bib is the 104461 Yukon Extremes® Insulated Bib Overall, while the warmest coverall is the 104464 Yukon Extremes® Insulated Coverall.

- Each has 150g of 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation for warmth, WindFighter® technology to keep harsh winds away from your skin, and Rain Defender® durable water repellent to help keep moisture out. Additional features include: reflective taping, double-layer knees, and ankle-to-thigh leg zippers.
Carhartt bib overalls are available in three styles: bibs, coveralls, and biberalls.

All three styles require waist and inseam measurements to find the right fit. For your inseam, measure from your crotch to the bottom of the leg hem on a pair of pants that fit you well. Then, measure around your natural waistline to find your waist measurement. If you plan on wearing the bibs over clothes or if your waistline measurement falls between sizes, buy the next size up.

More on inseams: some Carhartt bib styles are available in either regular, short or tall lengths instead of numeric inseam. Here’s how to choose the right inseam:
- A Short inseam is for someone whose height falls between 5’3”- 5’7”. This size is equivalent to a 29-30” inseam length.

- A Regular inseam for someone whose height falls between 5’7” – 5’11”. This size is equivalent to a 31-32” inseam length.

- A Tall inseam is for someone whose height falls between 5’11” – 6’3”. This size is equivalent to a 33-34” inseam length.

Carhartt bib overalls are either unlined, quilt lined, or arctic quilt lined.

- Unlined is the fabric that makes up the outer shell of the overall. Unlined bibs are great for warmer days or layering with other garments.

- Quilt Lined is a nylon taffeta taffeta paired with a lightweight polyester insulation. The smooth nylon provides warmth and ease of motion when taking the bibs on and off. Quilt lining is great for working outdoors in colder conditions.

- Arctic Quilt Lined is the warmest Carhartt lining. Arctic quilt is a nylon taffeta lining quilted to a heavy polyester insulation, making it much thicker than quilt lining. Like quilt-lined bibs, the smooth nylon provides warmth and ease of motion when taking the bibs on and off. Arctic quilt was built to keep you warm in the coldest temperatures.
Carhartt bibs and coveralls come in a variety of materials.

- Washed Denim is a softer denim material. Because it has been washed, it has a broken-in look and feel.

-Firm Duck is an unwashed and untreated material that is double-piled for additional durability. It features a very stiff, non-broken in feel and can resist snags and tears.

- Washed Duck (formerly known as sandstone) is a softer duck material. It has been washed and leaves the material with a broken-in look and feel.

- Super Dux™ is a lightweight, abrasion-resistant material made of nylon and elastane. Its features include Rain Defender® and Wind Fighter® technologies.

- Yukon Extremes® is made of a 500-denier Cordura® nylon shell created for extreme warmth in the coldest conditions. This material is heavy and rugged.
Carhartt bib overalls offer many features created just for workers. Those include: leg zippers for ease of motion and added breathability, linings for warmth, double knees that accommodate knee pads, Cordura® reinforced kick panels that add durability, roomy utility pockets, and convenient hammer loops.
