DETAILS

When working in extreme weather, grab you Carhartt Extremes® active jacket. Originally manufactured for the Alaska pipeline workers, this jacket is durable with a water-repellent, 1000-denier Cordura® nylon shell. The shell acts as a barrier between you and the bitter cold wind. It is lined with Carhartt arctic weight lining to keep you warm all day long.

Water-repellent polyurethane finish on underside of shell fabric
Attached quilt-lined three-piece hood with draw cord closure
Two inside pockets

I am a rural carrier in Colorado and am hit with strong north winds continually. This coat blocks the bitter cold and retains my body's heat. Also, the lapel pockets keep my phone from freezing and keeps my pens and glasses case secure for when I need them. The outer pockets even hold my keys and scanner without falling out, since my job requires lots of movement. Great quality and great performance. The tough material doesn't tear or get snagged on anything.

It is very high quality jacket and will last many years but runs small/short. Bottom of the jacket barely goes to the waist line... If you lift your arms over your head your belly button will be showing. I am a 2XL for everything and this 2XL is a little short on the body length. I am still satisfied with my purchase and expect it to last many cold winters here in New England.
