Best coat purchase I've made yet

From: Fort Smith, AR Age: 20-24 Gender: Male
For the price, you can't find a better coat. True to size advertised and absolutely toasty. I often spend long hours outside for work in pretty harsh conditions and I don't feel much of the cold at all. Working on year three with this coat and it looks like there is no end in sight. Worth the buy!

Love it, tough, warm

From: Overland Park, KS Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
I have had this jacket for about a month now and I love it. It’s very warm and durable. I had this on and my duck bibs in single digits and was very comfortable. It is extremely stiff when you first buy it (like five times stiffer thank duck), but after a few weeks use and about 15 hours on tumble dry with a par or soft Crcos and flip flops to beat it down...it’s actually pretty comfortable. It’s not fire retardant so you have to take that into consideration...

Not quite as warm as I thought it would be

From: Tokeland, WA Age: 65+ Gender: Male
You’ll need to wear a Vest under this coat. It does not have thick quilting in it. My upper back shoulders area was inadequately insulated from the cold after just wearing a long sleeve undershirt with it. It looks good and if you turn the hood inside out it makes a great wind barrier for your neck. I’m not wild about how tight the sleeves are either. I think either Velcro or 2 buttons would’ve been a better option. The zipper is good quality but very hard to zip up. It gets stuck slot.

Sizing chart is off...

From: Warren, OH Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
Over all the jacket is her comfortable and extremely warm. However, I am highly upset with the size. I used their measurement feature on the carhartt website to gather information on the best size fit for me. When I got the jacket, it was way to big. And in order to get a a replacement for the coat, I had to pay the freight cost to send back. They would then credit my credit card for the cost of just the jacket, and I would then have to place another order. To much work, when I have a store that carries the brand name, just never has the style I prefer. Would have been nice to just take there to get credit or replacement. But carhatt policy for online orders is that it has to be shopped back.

Don't be scared, it WILL break in!

From: San Luis Obispo, CA Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
I have had three other jackets in this style, all with cotton "duck" shell and quilted flannel, or a thermal mesh lining. This jacket differs quite a bit from the others, it is probably half the weight of my quilted flannel jackets. The outer shell does seem to be tougher and I have no doubt I'll get 10 years out of it like the others. It does runs a bit large, and the lower ribbed/elastic section is a bit loose on me, I may stitch that up a bit to seal up better in the wind. Overall I like it for the better water resistance and lighter weight with the same warmth of the duck/flannel version. The first time I wore it the hood stayed up on it's own and I looked like the Michelin Man wearing a hoodie. Almost sent it back after reading the reviews, but decided to go with it. Threw it in the washer on heavy cycle, then in the dryer. That softened it up a bit. Been wearing it every day for a few hours a day for a couple of weeks now and it's starting to feel broke in, the hood stays down now and I don't look so poofy anymore. If you've owned other Carhartt jackets, it will feel different, but I love the lighter feeling it has and feel it was worth the extra money.
