C55 L

From: Eire Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
I purchased this coat with other comments in mind, in relation to sizing, I usually take a XL with a sweater underneath, I purchased a size L and while there was ample room in the mid section, it was a squeeze to fasten the top button. Their's no getting around it, it was made for layering with a bib. Carhartt would do better with civilian sizing in mind for those not working on Alaskan pipe lines. IMHO

This is a solid and warm coat.

From:  Age: 55-64 Gender: Female
This is replacing a cotton duck coat of the same model. This is an excellent coat. Fairly light weight for such a warm garment. Sturdy nylon shell seems rugged; just a bit too stiff when new - hoping it will soften as it breaks in, but not a big issue. Really heavy-duty zipper works fine. Sizing seems fairly accurate to me. Overall a fine coat for cold weather work.

This is my second Yukon Extremes coat. The first was three years old and had a zipper malfunction. I nevertheless replaced it with the same coat, this time with the optional hood. It is essential for New England dog walking on the water where the wind is nearly constant. It is a great value and the warmest coat I have owned. It is attractive, fits well and has my unqualified recommendation.

pretty good coat

From: northport, NY Age: 55-64 Gender: Male
a great value in a coat very warm the zipper takes a few weeks to really break in but overall its ok. i also have a 1500 dollar canada goose expedition parka which is a bit warmer for ten times the price but its a pain you have to worry about getting robbed and mugged and its impossible to check or live with the carhartt is ez to live with and you dont get hasseled very warm to about five degrees. overall great overall

Long Term Review

From: Alexandria, VA Age: 55-64 Gender: Male
I have owned this coat for going on 3 years now. Like all Carhartts it wears like iron but if you are trying to decide between the Extremes or traditional duck coat I have owned both and prefer the Extremes for 3 reasons: 1 better wind resistance, 2 better water repellency, 3 lighter and tougher than cotton duck. Because it is more wind resistant, it is actually warmer than cotton duck version. The 1000 denier nylon shell is the same material many high end motorcycle jackets are made so it is tough! I just wish the front pockets were true hand warmer pockets lined with a micro fleece or similar. Last suggestion (for all Carhartt coats and jackets) is a micro fleece lining on the inside of the zipper flap under the chin to eliminate chafing.

Fits great. Feels super warm without being obnoxiously huge. Love the pockets. The zipper is a little tough at first.
