Carhartt 101448 - Gilliam Nylon Vest - Quilt Lined

Vest does have great features but runs at least one size small. I usually wear XL but can get away with L on many Carhartt items but L was way too small. Expected a little more quality from Carhartt. Returned. May order XXL later.

I've been wanting a vest to wear under layers for steelhead fishing to fight the deep chill when standing still in the riffles. I researched the high end primaloft vests but just couldn't pull the trigger due to the prices. I knew I wanted a vest that was lightweight and non bulky. Additionally, i wanted a vest that wouldn't bind or catch on the other layers. This Gilliam Vest hit the mark perfectly! Its every bit as nice as the pricey ones I looked at. It is immediately warm when I put it on. It provides more than enough warmth to my core without making me feel bulky. The pockets are well thought out with the chest pocket providing more than enough room for my phone, fishing license, and a key or sunglasses. I wore it today to cut wood and it proves its durability. It is more than warm enough to wear on a crisp spring morning all by itself. An added plus is that the vest really looks sharp and is nice enough to wear to a casual dinner. The price was half or more than the others I had looked at. Typical Carhartt quality! Would definitely recommend to others.

Light weight, but still keeps you warm. Especially when moving around, it's not cumbersome. Plenty of pockets for your gear too!
