They are not waterproof, resistant only and your feet will get wet in wet grass regardless of sealing the leather uppers. The molded sole fails long before the uppers show any sign of failing. Mine split apart across the ball of the foot where the majority of bending occurs, while walking or working on your knees. There is NO repair available should this happen and therefore, you do not get your moneys worth from the boot. I highly suspect the direct attached molded sole is a poor design and this splitting issue will occur on ANY boot with this sole design.
