Danner 30800W - Women's Mountain Light® II Hiking Boots

I bought these two months before climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. They broke in easily, and were an excellent choice for my entire climb. I have narrow feet and high arches, but was just fine without any additional footbed. Highly recommend!

These boots are comfortable for the soles of my feet, fit my extremely narrow foot, are beautiful and durable, but wow they are killing the back of my ankles. I realized I've never had shoes that dip down in the back of the ankle area - would love thoughts on if the leather digging into the back of my ankles will go away! Currently causing cuts and bleeding. But I want them to work!

I have arthritis in both feet, and work at road construction sites. These boots are comfortable and do not aggravate arthritis on long work days.

These boots were put to the ultimate test…7 days on the Salkantay Trek in Peru- that’s 42 miles at 14,000+ altitudes and back to back days of 2500+ ft of elevation gains daily. You could often hear “thank goodness I got these boots!” coming out of my mouth. I had also ordered the Danner 600 boots and I could tell, immediately, they weren’t going to give me the protection I wanted in the toe box. The descents were brutal, in many cases, and these boots provided me with the grip I needed on super dry, gravely trails. They were also amazing on smooth boulders on ascents. I can’t speak to how they are in mud or rain because we had ridiculously perfect, sunny, dry weather but handled streams just fine. I never experienced my feet being too cold and we were in the 30’s in certain spots. I did find them to be too warm one hot 80’s day but I was wearing the wrong sock. I mostly used darn tough lightweight socks and never once had a blister. I did size down from my usual size 8.5 to 8 and was very glad I did. I was concerned they might be a bit heavy for my 5’7, 130 pound frame but they weren’t at all. I had only broken them in a little the week before walking around the city and the airport before the hike began. I can’t say enough great things about these boots. I am a Danner customer for life, that is a guarantee!!

Fit great and are comfortable. I broke them in on little walks before our week long hike. We hiked in all kinds of terrain and they did very well. They stuck to the slick rocks, plowed through mud, and scrambled up and down loose rock. No blisters or hot spots. Well made and durable.

This is my third pair of Women's Mt. Lt, and there is nothing else I would wear for long distance hiking.

I absolutely love these boots. Most people think I am crazy with how much I rave about them but they are the best. I wear them everyday and, with the Airthotic instep cup, my feet don't even feel that hot/sweaty/uncomfortable throughout the day. Plus, they really do stay dry and debris stays out. Even after walking on the beach I have very little, if any, sand in my boots. After wearing them for almost two years I just sent them in to get recrafted/spruced up and the Recrafting Team is awesome. Basically these are totally worth the investment and will last you for a long time!
