Totally loved these at first; and I went to buy again in a bit larger size but they were out.
These are awesome work pants, however be careful as they are don't breath as well as regular duck work pants. They have pockets for tools everywhere that are quite useful and the removable pouch is really convenient!
They shrunk quite a bit with washing (drying?) so wash in cold and hang dry is a must warning!!! I wish they still fit the same as before, but they're still good enough for work.

Great pants... but shrink a lot in length

Ordered these pants... 3 pairs of 36W x 30L.... what I received was 3 pairs of pants that were 36W x 29L.
My spouse washed them before the initial wearing. They became 36W x 28.25, after they had hanged dried. The first time I wore them to work, I felt like I was wearing Capri-pants! Not happy at all!
I like all the pockets, the utility pouch, the knee pockets for knee pads, I like the materials, I like the reinforced belt loops..... but is it too much to ask that the manufacturers employees learn how to use a measuring tape?
Furthermore, knowing that there is substantial shrinkage in the length, perhaps Carhartt should manufacture them at least 3/4" to 1" longer? A pair of 36W x 30L should be manufactured initially as 36W x 31L
I am now having to alter these pants to be longer..... good thing I can sew well. Purchased material today at a fabric store. Had it not been expensive and time consuming to return them, I would have returned the pants instead.
Great pants, however, if you're considering a purchase, I would recommend getting them 2" longer than you normally would.

I'm a commercial & industrial electrician by trade. I've worn these pants for about a year. Here's my this thoughts:
+ The ripstop knees and cuffs on the legs are great: that's what wore out first on my double knee dungarees.
+ The top loading double knees for knee pads are genius, don't know why it took this long to figure out.
+ The utility pockets are well though out. Unless you're a southpaw, I suppose.
+ The snap attach utility pouch is great, but you may need a bit of customization depending on how you tool yourself out.
- The only color is . . . Black? Seriously?!? It's a hot (temperature) cool for outside work. And it fades. For $XX.xx, Carhartt should offer more options.
- They seem to shrink when washed?
- The mechanic's pockets are on the shallow side. As is the ticket pocket.
- The beltloops are tight on a leather Carhartt belt: you can't double up the belt tail after the buckle.
All in all, I'd buy them again. (I have four pair.) Is there a perfect pant for everyone? No. Is this a perfect pant for me? No. But, they are really good pants.

Not a bad choice

I'm an office coordinator for 3 wind farms and have ordered many of these pants for my guys. They definitely run small so order a size up and they also shrink when washed so maybe order longer as well. The guys say they are comfortable but they seem to obtain holes in the fabric pretty easily, but since they are cheaper than our other options and have free shipping it's not a bad choice.

These pants seemed like a good concept. I am usually 34×32 ordered 36×32, had to return them for 38×32. I have been wearing them about 3 days/week, with washes in between, knee reinforcement still looks the same, however, rest of pants have faded so bad that they look like someone left them in sun for several months. Snap on pocket is very handy, just wish material was more resistant, or that they offered them in brighter colors, where fading wouldn't be so obvious

so far these pants seem pretty great, they are just like my caterpillar pants except that these are better because the pouches are removable and they are very lightweight, but I've only worn them like a half dozen times so time will tell if they can really hold up

I like this ripstop pant I'm a lumberman usually bucking with a chainsaw the saw dust around my leg gets caked on but beads off while I work I'm 5'7" with a 36 waisted but had to bump up the size in this particular pant for comfort mostly the 36 was a little snug but nothing I couldn't work around just preference I believe this would make for a great pant If the armoured knee for a knee pad instert was not there I'll beat these up can't wait ..
