Wolverine W05604 - Ridgeline-Lo Insulated GORE-TEX® Waterproof All Leather Boot

Tried to buy these two years ago but everyone was sold out. Bought a pair last year a little earlier in the season. I used to wear Wolverine boots with 400 grams of insulation and they seemed warmer than these with 600 grams. These are warm enough for what I do (drive a truck and am in and out out it all day hooking and dropping trailers). I definitely would NOT buy these for hunting or hiking in extremely cold weather. I bought my usual size and there was a little more room inside than usual, but that would be good for thicker winter socks if you choose to do that. The fit was still comfortable enough with regular socks though. My only disappointment was that I'm replacing them after a year because the bottoms are wearing thin, and I don't wear these in the summer. That's the trade off for being comfortable. The softer the soles the more comfortable they are, but softer soles wear out faster. The top leather is letting the water soak in more than repel it now also. I've done nothing in the way of cleaning or maintenance with this pair so maybe taking better care of them with cleaning and maybe applying some additional waterproofing would make these last longer if the soles didn't wear out first. I do like the rubber on the exxterior around the toe area. It makes a big difference in not getting the toe area soaking wet. If your toes get wet, it's all over for trying to stay warm. The photos show some discoloring on the leather but that just shows character and the wear on the soles.
