Better Yet

From:  Age:  Gender:
I like these 200 gram insulated Ft. Lewis boots even better than the GTX Ft. Lewis's. I got them a half size up and put in a Danner footbed. With some heavyweight tactical socks from Darn Tough, you'll never get better support and stability.

Don't leave home without them

From:  Age:  Gender:
Have owned 3 pair of them and wore them all to a nub. Bought my first pair in '87 at Ft Benning when they came out. Lived in them during the winter for both my tours in 2 ID. Then on to JRTC, back when it was at Chaffee. Wore them through several Fall & Winter rotations. When O/Cing at Bragg and Campbell in the winter, the 82nd and 101st types all made fun of me wearing them. I wasn't the one who came down with frost bite or trench foot. Ha ha jokes on me. What a caveman mentality. The last real test I had for them was 2 winters in the Balkans chasing bad guys. Have rucked, jumped, hiked and you name it in these boots. Last comment is that they run a little narrow so I had the EE width 200g insulated version. Problem solved. Best black leather winter boots you could wear back then.

The Ultimate

From:  Age:  Gender:
BUY THESE BOOTS!!!!! They are the ultimate for warmth, support and foot protection. I just received my 2nd pair. You will not find anything better. Buy them a half a size larger and get the DXT Comfort footbed insole. I found that the insulation causes a pinch on the toes and the larger size gives more toe room. You will have them for many years. Think about all the crap boots you'd go through in the meantime and how much it would cost. These are much more cost effective. These boots are the flagship of the Danner line.

Best Boots Ever

After 3 resoles and 7 years of use the leather finally tore. Most comfortable boot I've ever had. Look forward to breaking in the new ones and seeing how long they last.

Career Boot

From:  Age:  Gender:
I was issued a pair of these at Ft. Bragg in 1993. I wore them every winter for my 6 years at Bragg, then the whole year in Korea, then my whole time at Ft. Drum, then finally Ft. Carson. 20 years with never an issue in all kinds of terrain, temperature, and wet conditions. They survived multiple road marches, live fire ranges, and even standing around for hours as an OC. My feet were never uncomfortable nor wet. These are hands down the best boot for any outdoor activity. They are warm, dry, and comfortable. Made in the USA and worth every penny.

22 years old

From:  Age:  Gender:
I have owned these boots since 1999. They have been the best boots I've owned. Had the soles replaced a few times. Mostly patrol K-9 work with some snow shoeing, motorcycling and general use outside. Quality is unmatched.

1/2 a Size Larger

From:  Age:  Gender:
5 stars all the way. I am somewhere between a 10.5 and 11d and I find that ordering them in an 11.5d and using a Danner footed works best. If you order them in your normal shoe size, they are a bit cramped. Best boots you'll ever own.
