These are just what I was looking for in a lightweight boot. I've been using Danners; since 1991and I still use all 5 pairs for different trips. The three 8 " Frontiers are very well worn and still serviceable, but expectedly less waterproof than new. The 10" 600 insulated ones are used for cold weather hunting and are in great condition. And the Mountain Lights generally get used backpacking in the NW Colorado mountains on rougher trails. I had those refurbished 3 years ago at Danner and they came back just like new. One reason I bought Danners again is that I know my exact size and they all fit perfectly every time.

Vital Trail 5” is a

Vital Trail 5” is a great boot. I have been wearing them over the last week and they are breaking in nicely. Traction is good on loose trail small rock. They are true fit. If you’re thinking of using a thicker sock I would recommend 1/2 size up. It’s warming up here in PA and a thin to medium sock is working well during the break in. I plan on putting at least 100 miles on over the next month. Will see how they hold up but so far very pleased with the fit, comfortability and construction .
