I broke these boots in

I broke these boots in on two lengthy hikes at Roan Mt. NC. They are a dream. More boot than I am used to, but I am very excited about the prospect of having a boot that sticks with me and that I can trust for years! Highly recommend for the serious backpacker.

These have been the most

These have been the most comfortable mid-weight hikers/ backpackers out of the box I have ever owned! The materials and craftsmanship is top quality. They come in widths and I have a EE width foot, wide forefoot with narrow heal. The 9 wides fits me great. They have kept me dry through water, snow and mud. The vibram soles have griped well in everything from wet wood to rocks to hard and soft packed dirt. My only complaint is that they could use better insoles but most stock insoles even in well made high-end boots like these are lackluster.

I like them but manufacturing

I like them but manufacturing quality is mid tier. For example the leather uppers used on each shoe vary considerably and look like they weren’t matched from the same piece of leather. Also the shoe construction isn’t balanced. For example my left boot lace area is centered and my right boot is slanted to the left. I kept them because I wore them but you can tell these aren’t made to an exact specification.

Absolutely love these

They run wider than my Danner lights that are also EE width but they are super comfortable. I tried the Ds and they were too narrow. Not in love with the gaiter clip at the front but I just run my lace through it so it doesn’t dangle. Got them on sale and happy I did!
