The Danner, Hood Winter Light, has been my choice of boot since 1990. I opted for the Grouse version as a non-insulated version. There is little to no break-in, and if you take care of them, they will take care of you!

20 years ago I got my first pair of Danner boots. They were the Acadias. Tis was the best pair of boots I've ever owned. I wish I could have afforded these when I was in the Army. I've had them rebult twice. I still wear them sometimes. I wasn't sure what I was going to get with the GROUSE boots. I just received them today. They're just like my Acadias. Maybe even better.

I was one happy guy when I saw these on the Danner website, I thought that they were a Cabela's exclusive thrown out from Bass Pro. These boots work great for me here in the Michigan woods of northern part of the state. I'm glad that I took the time to go through the Danner website.
