We have always paid a little more for Danner shoes and boots. The reason we do is because they make the quality we expect to get. Danner just replaced a new pair of boots that we had a slight problem with. Their guarantee is better than they say. No questions ask, they just sent us a new pair. Looking forward to wearing these while hiking through tall grasses out on the plains. After the number of cactus spines that stuck in my old boots last year, I'm hoping the Sharptails will be just as effective against cactus spines as they are against snakes. Feel good so far while walking on concrete, but I've yet to fully break them in and use them in the wild. I'm hopeful they'll have a long life. One first impression where there's room for improvement: Install a larger zipper pull. The zipper works fine now while it's new and clean, but my experiences with other zippered boots tell me that once the teeth are full of prairie dust, it will take more force to get the zipper up and down. A larger pull that's easier to grip would be a big help. Seems all zippered boots use these smaller pulls; not sure why.

Great boot most comfortable out of the box boot I’ve ever worn. Fit true to size. My feet are a bit wide and the wide boot was a great fit for me. I called in since I wasn’t sure about fit. The rep I spoke to was very helpful and understanding. Great service. I’ve only worn them 15-20 times so I can’t really talk on durability but so far so good.
