Rich pebble-grain leather and 1000 Denier nylon® stitched into Vibram® soles like the roots of a sequoia are stitched in the soil. The Danner® Light II is a hiker's best buddy and a bootmaker's masterpiece.

I recently had the pleasure of putting my new Danner Light II 6" boots to the test during an arduous elk hunting trip, and I must say, they exceeded all expectations. Over the course of several exhausting days, these boots provided outstanding comfort, durability, and support, making a noteworthy impact on the success of my excursion. To start, the comfort level of these boots is unmatched. Right out of the box, they required minimal breaking in, preventing the typical discomfort associated with new footwear. The balance between sturdy support and flexible comfort was ideal for navigating rough terrain. Whether trekking through uneven boulder fields, dense scrub brush, or loose rocky paths, the boots offered excellent ankle support and remained comfortable, eliminating fatigue. The rugged construction of the Danner Light II proved indispensable in facing the unpredictable elements. The durable leather and Gore-Tex lining offered superior waterproofing, keeping my feet dry during long stints in deep snow and muddy environments. Their solid traction gave me confidence in each step, even on slippery or uneven surfaces, ensuring my safety in challenging conditions. Another impressive feature was the temperature regulation. Despite the significant temperature fluctuation common to elk hunting trips, my feet stayed warm without overheating, thanks to the breathable materials of the boot. These will definitely take some

These will definitely take some breaking in, but they're breaking in nicely. They fit my left foot perfectly, and are also how I learned my right foot is just a tad wider. They provide sure grip, don't slip, and don't feel too heavy while hiking (but wow when switching back to street shoes after it feels like there's nothing on your feet!). The treads also don't hold mud, which is nice since I can just tap out what I picked up in the hike, unlike my last boots. I've only hiked in warm and hot weather so far, and they don't get overly hot with a good pair of wool socks. Best boots I've owned.

I have been wearing Danner

I have been wearing Danner Boots for 40 years. Grouse Boots are Superior. Foresters are great. Will be reconditioning my last pair of MTN LIGHT II. These will out wear imports 4 to 6 times. You truly get what you pay for.

Love the boots. Solid, substantial,

Love the boots. Solid, substantial, great support. I guess I have a high instep, because i have a hard time getting them on because the tongue restricts access. A loop at the rear top of the boot would probably give me the leverage I need to slide my feet in. Loosening laces all the way doesn't help. Once I get them on, they feel great and offer the Danner fit and security I was looking for. Pretty sure it's just a question of loosening tongue through break-in. No break-in required for me as far as comfort once boots are on. Very pricey, but justified because of recraftability,
