Excellent quality and just as I remember from my pair from 1979. The break in period was brutal as some foot soreness was experienced. Added some insoles that I purchased, and look forward to years of wear once the boots are broke in.

I was hesitant to purchase online, but after measuring my feet I called customer service and they helped me select the best size. My feet were are between 11. 5 and 12 on the Brannock device and about B width. I purchased 12 D men’s and they fit amazing. I have about two weeks wearing them and they are breaking in nicely.

A well made and iconic hiking boot that is entirely too narrow for my feet, even in the wide size. If you have narrow feet, then great, but if you need a roomier toe box, as in KEEN or Merrell then look to the Mountain Pass that it is based on the same last as their Bull Run work boots, with a wider fit. Buy locally if possible to get a good fit and test carefully before wearing any hiking boots outdoors, they are unforgiving once on the trail. Don’t listen to people who tell you that boots will stretch, maybe you’ll get some give over time but only after a miserable break in period, if it doesn’t feel perfect when initially trying on, don’t buy them.

Love the boot, squeaks very loud when moving. The insole heal plastic vibrates/ squeaks against inside of the boot material. Would like a fix for this. Any options?

These boots are what I have come to expect from Danner: comfortable, well made and good looking. The only thing that keeps this from being a five star review is the fact that the insoles squeak. And I don't mean occasionally; both insoles squeak on every step, even after three weeks and some attempts to quiet them with powder. I swapped the Danner insoles into a pair of sneakers and put gel insoles into the Damners. No more squeak in either pair. Something about the Danner insoles in the Danner boots is noisy!
