Created with the help of two career Army officers from Fort Lewis, Washington, the USA-made Fort Lewis™ is FORSCOM approved and loaded with all the features a warrior or law enforcement professional needs. A cushioning Vibram® Kletterlift outsole fights fatigue on long marches. Made of a specialized dry ice compound, the outsole remains flexible in extreme cold to aid slip resistance. The full-grain leather upper and GORE-TEX® lining keeps the boot waterproof. Danner's famous stitchdown construction gives a more stable platform underfoot and superior durability.

I would give them five

I would give them five stars if they came with the proper insoles but they don’t and you have to buy them separately! They should have the black foam inserts with the Danner logo but instead, they come with a pair of weird, white hard plastic inserts that are hard on the heels and even harder on the eyes. When you leave your boots out, you see these ugly, white plastic things inside them! I had to chuck the white plastic things and order the proper inserts which made these boots more expensive than expected. Otherwise, they feel very sturdy, well-made and I expect them to last a long time.

The ankles are WAY too

The ankles are WAY too big. They would for sure cause folds that would rub and chafe. Everywhere else runs small. It’s also impossible to lace them tightly without awkwardly holding the laces as you go because they’ll just slip away. I sent them back.
