Danner 21210 - Men's Acadia® Uninsulated Uniform Boots

Fantastic pair of boots. They break in easily and are extremely comfortable. We used the wet method to break them in: 1). Put your boots in a bathtub or wash tub. 2). Fill them with water until they’re completely soaked. If you see dry spots, soak them longer. 3). Empty the water from your boots. 4). Put on two pair of socks and put on the wet boots. (Extra sock layers are essential, because as the leather dries, it shrinks. Wearing two pair of socks trains the leather to leave you a little wiggle room for everyday wear.) 5). Wear your boots for a full day. 6). Remove the insoles and lay them out separately to dry. 7). Put your boots outside or in front of a fan to fully dry. 8). Take off wet boots every couple of hours and let your feet dry thoroughly. 9). Put on two pairs of dry socks before putting the boots back on to help protect your feet.

I've been wearing these boots over 20 years. They wear very well. My work takes me all over the world and my danners go with me. With the zippers installed their great getting through the airports. Whenever I'm in Portland I love to stop in at the store on Airport Way and see whats new.

These boots were easily broken in. The leather is very soft. The only thing that concerns me is when I step on a wet or freshly mopped floor, the bottom of the boot becomes very slippery.

As a Deputy Sheriff, I have worked many assignments including courts, jails and patrol. I started my LE career with these boots at the recommendation of my Recruit Training Officer. The county I work in has metropolitan cities, deserts, mountains and farm lands which are all in our jurisdiction. My Danner Acadias have stood up to the heat, cold, rain, snow, mud, concrete and sand during my time on patrol. They are extremely durable boots and will never fail you, no matter the terrain. I have high arches and needed to use my own orthopedic insoles while working on hard concrete surfaces such as the jail and court house. However, the foam midsole provides great shock absorption and makes it easy to stand on my feet during a full 12 hour shift. I've chased suspects through small lakes and rivers and never got a drop of water inside of my boot thanks to the gortex lining. In the 3 and a half years I've had them, I've only had to resole them once! If your department is strict with uniform appearance, these boots take a shine in no time thanks to the high quality full grain leather. The leather on these boots is very durable and will last many years if you periodically condition and clean it. My training officer wore the same pair of Acadias for 10 years and they still looked great! The only gripe about these boots is they do run narrow. I normally wear a size 11 (I like a little extra space in my boots) and these boots were too narrow for me. I traded them for a 10.5 EE (wide) and they fit perfectly, like a glove. If you can try them on before you buy, it may save you from having to exchange them. Lastly, the question everyone asks... Are they heavy? The short answer is kind of. These boot are definitely heaver than all the sneaker style boots that are in style and flood the market. However, we get used to what we wear right? After a few weeks, you'll get used to the weight difference and won't even notice it anymore. The quality, durability and comfort these boots offer is amazing and worth every penny in my opinion. If you value quality boots that are comfortable and will last many years, look no further!
