These are the perfect shoes for wet muddy weather and because they have thick soles, the shoes work well for snow and for standing on concrete. Very easy to slip on to go out to the barn!

Perfect Storm Shoe

Heel slips too much

The problem is the heel slips. A smaller size would likely have crushed my toes, so which problem would be more annoying? I figured crushed toes. So I tried thicker socks which made the box uncomfortable. Then I cut off the toes of some old thick socks and that kind of worked but the sock road up under my foot as I walked. Then I bought heel slip pads, and found that if I rig two of them placed against the sole and up near the ankle opening that seems to help. My heel slips a little in taller boots, but the height stops my foot from exiting. After all this re-engineering I believe the problem is the soft cloth around the ankle, which provides no resistance to my foot leaving the shoe. The shoe is very sturdy, and importantly, has a very substantial sole which attracted me away from the brand I usually buy. I don't plan to return these but wouldn't buy this style again.

Not comfortable and heavy shoes
