Carhartt R28 - Duck Carpenter Bib Overall - Unlined

Over 25 years working in the building trades, nothing I have found compares to these versatile work bibs. Attached pouches are great for a handfull of screws, organizing drivers, and other small hand tools, Why are they no longer available?!

I’m in my 44th year as a carpenter. Way back when, when I was an apprentice , we had to wear carpenter overalls. At that time in Canada the overalls were GWG Red Strap. They were white, and they surely got dirty. Our Forman called them our uniform, and that we were required to wear them. After the GWG market dried up we needed an alternative. Thus the R28 Carhartts. Over the years I’ve purchased many many pairs, and was lucky enough to get a black pair one time. So now I want to get another new pair but I’m told that they have been discontinued. So what do I wear now? Is there a replacement or another company that might fabricate these overalls with the carpenter nail bags available? I’m surely missing these overalls and I’m certainly having a difficult time telling the young folks that these are our uniform, especially since they’re discontinued. Reading some of the other folks reviews, I’ll agree...hammer strap should be on the right hand side.

My son has been wearing these for years and always his favorite birthday and Christmas gift. You need to return these ASAP as there is nothing else like them! Whatbwouldnyoundonthat?

My hisband and every other electrician i know wears the R28 bibs. Why carhartt tries to discontinue this style is beyond me. Maybe if enough of us call and request them they will start making them again!! Call carhartt and speak with customer service and help me with " bring the R28's Back petition!"..... thanks

I'm a Union Electrican and have been wearing these Overalls for over 45 years and find them to be the most durable ones I have worn. Yes I would like to see other colors, but that being said they wear very comfortable and very durable.

I come from France, and I wear a lot of Carhartt clothes. I really liked this overalls, but unfortunately, you don't ship to France... My girlfriend managed to find a site that delivered this overalls to France. What a surprise ! I am extremely satisfied with this overalls, the quality is amazing ! It is very convenient with all this pockets. It's very nice to work with, very confortable and it's more convenient than working with pants. My gf took 2 sizes above my normal size so I could put another pair of pants or a sweatshirt, and it's not a problem at all in my movements. The thickness at the knees allows the overalls to detoriate less quickly than my old work pants. IN SHORT, I found no negative point to this overalls ! I just hope that you will deliver in France, because I will buy other clothes on your site ! Nathan R, France

I've been at the carpenter trade and wearing bib overalls since 1975. This is a good product and I've had many pairs. It wears and performs well. My only complaint is for a right handle person the hammer loop is on the wrong side. It is very inconvenient. The other suggestion I have is add zippers to the legs. I am over 60 years old and wear these bibs over my street clothes. I have a difficult time taking them off.

I like these overalls very much. I am a union carpenter and have had many pairs of these over the years. However, I do have one complaint. I don't understand why the hammer loop only comes on the left-hand side. This is very inconvenient. Does Carhartt make these with the hammer loop in the right? If not, I think you should. Thank you.
