Carhartt's heavyweight zip-front sweatshirt is now available in flame-resistant fabric.

  • 14.25-ounce FR knit: 58% cotton, 35% modacrylic and 7% polyester blend with durable water-repellent finish
  • Original fit
  • Attached hood with FR draw-cord closure
  • Brass front zipper with Nomex® FR zipper tape plus inner and outer protective flaps
  • Two front hand-warmer pockets
  • Stretchable, spandex-reinforced rib-knit cuffs and waistband
  • Anti-odor control
  • Carhartt FR and NFPA 2112/HRC 3 labels sewn on left-front pocket
  • Made from inherently flame-resistant fabric
  • Meets NFPA 70E standards and is UL® Classified to NFPA 2112
  • HRC - 3
  • ATPV (CAL/CM) - 33.6

This hoodie can take the heat

I bought this hoodie when I was looking for comfortable and casual FR clothing for the Welding Academy. I've caught quite a bit of slag and fresh sparks from 7018 rods and along with not feeling a thing--there's not even a blemish on the sweater. It's made rather big, but it's comfortable and breathable so I've got no complaints.

Large, but warm

This sweatshirt is great for keeping warm AND dry. I love that it's water repellent. The only downside is that even the small wasn't small enough - it's very baggy on me.
