Carhartt 106234 - Rugged Flex® Relaxed Fit Duck Detroit Jacket

Perfect lightweight jacket for the fall. Note to prospective buyers that this is not as heavy as the original Detroit jackets. Good for layering but would be great to see Carhartt add a more robust blanket liner and heavier duty canvas to these in the future.

Suitable for South Texas just about year round. It is a great jacket for cool mornings or evenings, with room to layer if needed. Fits and wears like a denim jacket, without the drop tail hem of the current Blanket Detroit model and added adjustment snaps. (In fact it is so nice that my girlfriend has co-opted it as her work jacket now) My few complaints is the lack of back / shoulder gussets, and that how the sleeves are unlined but the body is. With how thin the lining is, you could do without, but I understand it is there for the internal pockets.

This jacket is great. The quality isn't as good as the old J97 jackets in my opinion as the lining of the jacket feels a little less durable, Especially where the Velcro is on the right inside pocket. It almost feels as if I am going to rip the liner while pulling the Velcro apart but that may just be as it is fresh Velcro. Overall the jacket is good quality and the fit is great. (For reference I am 6'4 and roughly 180lbs and I ordered a Medium Tall) I usually struggle to find jackets with proper sleeve length but if you are a taller guy with long arms, the tall sizes work perfectly.

I bought this bec. I was curious. I also owned the current detroit jacket model. If you're undecided between the two the current detroit jacket is a bit thicker. It's more bulkier. The re-imagined is thinner like a trucker jacket. This is more for everyday jacket. For going out. It is slimmer fit. Overall body length is short with long sleeves. I had to adjust the cuffs since it's a bit big too. The detroit jacket no need to adjust cuff. If you're a big guy or have a stomach get the current detroit jacket. If you are slim, get the re-imagined version. For the price and design, personally I prefer the current detroit jacket over this.

Without a doubt my new favorite Carhartt jacket. Really like the sand dune color and inside lining. Love that it has two inside pockets as well. Excellent lightweight fall jacket. Hopefully Carhartt will make a warmer version of this style.
