Carhartt 104221 - Women's Rain Defender® Coat

Purchased this for reliable protection during dog walkie duty. Has held up well so far. Perfect weight for spring and summer. Fits true to size and the added coverage in back was a real selling point/feature. Hood is adjustable and generous - no pulling up at the neck & shoulders. Several good pockets with thoughtfully placed flaps. Chose the teal just in case doggo decides it's time for a dance in the rain (and mud) - it happens with an energetic 10 month old Belgian Sheepdog. Makes those walks in the rain a lot more tolerable - the pupper needs his walkies no matter what the weather. Priced fairly.

I like the coat and the option for the synched waist. I sized up from my typical size small to a medium because my arms are long and the sleeves are still too short.

I searched a long time to finally find this perfect rain jacket. The fit is just roomy enough for a warm garment underneath, yet the jacket has a flattering fit without looking bulky. The two-way zipper made this design a winner, the hood design keeps my face dry, and the coverage on the back side is perfect protection. Lucky for me, this has been a rainy winter and spring!

Loved it! I love the hood too! It comes down over your forehead so your entire head is covered! the sleeves are long enough too! So many times the sleeves fall way too short on my arms... but these sleeves are plentiful in length!

I love my new rain jacket. It fits great, has ample room in my hip and belly areas, which isn't always easy for us plus size women. I haven't worn it in a heavy rainstorm yet, but I have worn it in heavy winds and light rain and it definitely provides very good shielding. I also love the fact it doesn't make crinkling sounds when I move around, because the fabric is much higher quality than the competition. Lastly, the front double zipper slides easily, and the pockets are easy to get in and out of. All very much appreciated design elements.

Love it. It was just what I was looking for in a rain jacket. It kept me dry while out walking in a drizzle. Nice length, not too heavy and a nice adjustable hood. Although the pockets have a snap closure, I wish they zipped. Overall, a great jacket at a great price.

I went to my local Carhartt store in Salem Oregon. Teata greeted me as soon as I entered and asked me what I was looking for. I told her a lightweight walking jacket that was not too warm. She took me to the lightweight and medium weight jackets. This lightweight one was simply perfect, and I loved the color (Carhartt brown) with the gray lining. Teata showed me how to cinch it around the hood and waist, and I was sold! May come back for another color...

Listen I'm not the type to normally write reviews, but the first day I had this jacket, my town got hit with a freak storm where rain was coming down in a wall of water. I had to pull my car into a gas station to wait out the storm, and I climbed out of my car as tornado sirens started going off. With the jacket on, no part of my upper body was wet. My jeans? Soaked, at no fault of the jacket (but much fault of the storm). This jacket repelled half dollar sized droplets of rain as they bombarded in a waterfall fashion as I walked 10 short feet to the entrance of the gas station. So if you're wondering if the jacket stands up in extreme conditions, it does. I highly recommend this jacket as both a staple clothing item, and a jacket to be worn through spring storms that develop out of nowhere.
