Carhartt 103828 - Detroit Jacket - Blanket Lined

This jacket is designed for working tradesmen, gear-heads, motorheads, dudes w/open top jeeps, equipment operators, farmers, etc. VERY good quality build. The kind of jacket that lasts decades. Notice the cut - just above the belt-line. Gives you access to tools while working. A tad longer sleeves so your forearms are cover while reaching over-head to work. Longer sleeves to keep the forearms and gloves covered while leaning forward driving a motorcycle, tractor, or quad. Cut a tad large so a hooded sweatshirt can be worn under it. Pockets are not really cut for keeping hands in. They are cut to hold car keys, smokes, or a bag of trail mix and a Snickers. Holds an open beer or soda in a pinch if hands are full. Good place to stuff your leather gloves and expect to find them later.In years past, this coat was sold in more colors - plus option for washed duck w/leather Carhartt patch. Older version had 2 rear button tabs to take in the waist. This version has a useful slightly longer tail - hides plumber's crack.Think of this timeless design in a similar manner as the classic western jean jacket. Built to serve a functional purpose. This coat is warmer and built better. It's a Fall/Spring season coat - extended w/sweater or hoodie. Excellent coat for morning coffee on porch or open Jeep if you spend summers in desert high mountains.

The material of these jeans is extremely satisfying, and the quality is outstanding. Even though I ordered a size 4 inches larger and only had the waist altered, the fit is still perfect, making me highly recommend them to my colleagues. I have found that Carhartt jackets that are relaxed fit tend to run fairly large. I typically wear a large or XL in shirts but found a medium jacket was more fitting.

I have an older one that has been put to the test for several years now. It is still in use today and probably will be for some time to come. The new one is my casual jacket, I know it is just as capable as my original.

Like most have stated here, this jacket runs big width and length. I’m 6’0 and 150lbs; I ordered the large regular. After one wash and dry on medium heat the sleeves and body length are perfect. However the width of the jacket is still big on me (I’m skinny) but I added button snaps on the sides to bring it in just a bit.

My husband grew up on Carhartt and wanted a jacket just like his old one and this is very similar. There are some minor differences in he fit and lining. It’s very durable and the quality you expect fromCarhartt.

I was surprised by the weight of this jacket! It was very heavy and felt “Bulky”! I previously tried on this same jacket in a store in size 4XL so I felt a jacket one size smaller would fit me? Wrong, the sleeves were even longer and the body was as large or larger than the 4XL I tried on before. I am returning this jacket and am requesting a FULL REFUND please.
