Excellent raincoat

From: Gaston, OR Age: 65+ Gender: Male
This is just what I need for the Western Oregon rainy season. The medium weight allows warmer under layers when needed, but isn't too hot for warmer weather. I already had the medium weight overalls, so I thought the coat would be as good. I didn't rate durability because I've only used it a month or so.

Thought it was jacket and pants. Not worth it for just the jacket.

From: New York, NY Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
The jacket seems like a good fit my use with bicycle commuting. I would give it 4 stars in appearance with hopes that it performs the way it looks. I haven’t used it in the rain yet. I ordered this $60 jacket thinking that it was a rain suit- based on the photo showing the man in the jacket and matching rain pants. I refuse to spend another $60 for the pants. I should return them based on this failure by the company to make that clear but I’ll give it a try. Very disappointed. I wish I read the description carefully but when you o line shop, you go through so many. I would t have ordered it for the $60 if I had known it was just for the jacket. I would say the max should have been $40.

Never received

From:  Age: 65+ Gender: Male
Carhartt cancelled my order and gave me no option of another color, size or style. If it leaks like the overalls bibs, it isn't what you want.

This Jacket is a Godsend

From: Portland, OR Age: 25-34 Gender: Male
I work outdoors all afternoon and evening in the Pacific Northwest rain, and have been for over 6 years. This jacket is the only jacket that I trust to keep me dry for six or more hours a day in the pouring rain, while ALSO not being stifling. All other types of rain jackets I've worn on the job have always begun to leak at some point, simply due to the fact that with any kind of porous, textile fabric, you can never achieve complete water proofing. The material this jacket is made of, however, is completely water impermeable. This jacket being essentially a plastic shell, the only way it will ever leak is if you tear a hole in it. That being said, this jacket does not feel stiff. At all. It is just as flexible as any other light rain coat I've owned. They do seem to run large. With this, I wear a medium (I usually wear a large or XL), and still have plenty of room to layer up with a crew-neck and a hoodie underneath if I need to. The only cons I will mention with this product are: (A) The material feels like it wouldn't take much effort to tear, say, by brushing against a sharp edge. (B) The pockets are a little in conveniently placed. I much prefer horizontal pocket flaps, to the vertical ones seen here, but I see how some may like it.

This jacket meets the requirement of being just light enough get the job done while keeping you protected from the elements for hours. -Even wear it hiking as opposed to light sports jacket.
