I bought these specifically for hunting pheasants to wear underneath my briar pants. A couple others I tried I sweated a bit much from 50-20 degrees and my other (thicker) baselayers would retain some of the sweat. These kept me dry and warm while walking. These are also very comfortable and stretch enough for my liking. The bottom cuff is loose (which I like) so if that's important, factor that into your decision.
