Carhartt 101178 - Force® Mandan Short Sleeve Solid Shirt

Although the weather has not allowed me to do much more than to try them on, I have been very pleased with the fit and the apparent quality of these shirts.

I would have given this shirt 5 stars if it was "Original Fit" rather than a "Relaxed Fit". I'm guessing Carhartt developed the Relaxed Fit line to save on material costs because there's nothing "Relaxed" about it. It's like wearing a fitted shirt. Looks great especially if you have a decent build but just don't try moving around too much. I'm about 200 lbs, 5'10", 35" waist, 44" chest. I'm not a fan of the Relaxed Fit cut. Large looks better than XL but binds in the shoulders and arms when I'm moving around working. I find I'm fighting the shirt all day. The XL fits better in the chest and shoulders but is usually way too baggy around the waist and long and looks funny b/c the chest pockets tend to be too low. My best Carhartt fit is Large Original Fit. These are darn good shirts and well-designed for the hottest weather, but who wants to battle a shirt that's a bit too tight or too baggy and weighed down with extra material when you're fighting the blazing sun and perspiration? I bought one in tan an one in green and am not sorry because I got them at a good sale price. I will use them but will always wish they were Original Fit

Agree with the other reviews, really like that 3rd zipper pocket to park my cell phone, can talk to people using the speaker phone while in the pocket. Very comfy, easy to wash, breathes nicely, has been 90+ in Los Angeles, no complaints.

Great shirt for casual or light work. Well vented and the light weight rip-stop material is excellent. Great pockets. Nice color options. Size was true to other Carhartt shirts I own. One thing I found that bugged me was the restrictiveness in the shoulder and back region if working hunched or bending over. Otherwise a great shirt and I receive compliments nearly every time I wear it.

Active field work requires light weight garments even in the winter. However, arm protection is a must have if working in the bush. S0 give me the same Force in a long sleeve with a way to roll them up above the elbow and secure them until I need them.

I bought several of these shirts for work but ended up taking them on a Caribbean vacation because the "hidden" zippered chest pocket is the perfect place for passport, money , camera etc. The pocket is literally big enough to fit all of these!!

used this shirt on camping trip this summer. Very comfortable and dried quickly when wet. Will buy more!
