I've been searching for a simple, well-designed and well-constructed, cotton, zippered, unlined jacket that I could wear during the shoulder seasons and during the high desert evening here in New Mexico. I thought it would be easy to find, but it wasn't. Finally, it appeared on the Carhartt website, and in tall sizes no less. It took some restraint not to order two of them. I've worn it every day since it arrived. It meets all of my hopes and expectations. It's a joy to wear. If you're looking for something like this, get one while you can.

The jacket arrived and the softer stretch type flex material feels like something cheaper other than Carhartt but all reviewes here and online have positive stuff to say about it so I will have to try it out myself. I'm 5'8 and 256 pounds and order a 2XL. I wanted it sized to be able to layer it with a fleece on those cold morning or nights but it's actually too big so I will be returning the 2xl for a XL. I felt the shoulder area, the belly area were too big for me. I don't have a beer belly, so for those that do hope this info helps, as you will have enough room.The sleeves are also a tad longer but due to the extra cuff snaps you can adjust. I Will posting another honest review when that size arrives.
