Danner 67331 - Arctic 600 Side-Zip

I needed an insulated boot for Adirondack winter low level mountaineering without having a rigid boot. It has been warm and comfortable so far. It is, actually, very comfortable. They recently took me to Algonquin Peak when it was -12 degrees at the base and certainly much colder at the summit. I wear the boots with (2) layers of socks, the inner sock being A Darned Tough Over-the-Calf Cushioned Hiker and the outer a thinner, shorter Darned tough sock. My feet stay warm and comfortable! I wear a 12W and they are big enough on the inside for the needed winter socks and still have toe wiggle room. The boots on the light side and not heavy. I use them with my snowshoes, microspikes and hiking crampons with no issues. The have been dry so far. The only thing which is annoying is the zipper. Really? Danner design guys...I hope you read this...dump the zipper and you have a first rate insulated winter boot. You could probably knock $20 off the price. The zipper feature is actually a liability and, from what I have read, doesn't work that well anyway. But, still I am very, very pleased with the boot. I really like them. Drop the zipper and you have the perfect winter hiker!

Very comfortable and functional boot. I’m not a huge fan of the suede finish, as it seems more like a lifestyle boot than a winter hiker. That said, these booors keep my feet quite warm and dry in the New England winter. The zippers work and my somewhat wide foot fits in these regular width boots with heavy hiking socks. One thing I’d love to see is a slightly heavier duty version of this boot for people like myself who need an easy on/off boot for work.

Great boot for winter weather. Grippy soles and warm without being so insulated that your feet get “schweddy”! I like the side zip feature and they look good.

My girlfriend bought them for me and I love them. True to it’s size. I’d definitely suggest you don’t hesitate to get these. Looking for another pair or style for sure!!

These are great boots. Except for one problem at this price point they should have an upgraded insole. Will have to order that now.

They are light comfortable easy to lace up. Easy to takeoff and put on. The zippers are a little difficult to pull up. Not sure why. That’s the only thing that I do not like.

So far so good, use these for fat biking in the mountains, nice and light with a true flat sole! If the durability remains long term than this is a solid contender for winter biking.
