Usually I do not have good luck with ordering shoes. This pair of Danner boots was an exception. I bought these for a trip to Alaska. I have not left for the trip, but I have worn them here. I love them. I did order a half size larger in anticipation of wearing thick socks with them during my trip. I wanted insulated and waterproof boots and hopefully when my trip is over I will be just as pleased as I am now.

I can't say enough good things. They are warm when snowshoeing, dry when in soggy snow, have good grip and also work well with boot chains. I got a half size larger than usual and they fit great with heavy socks.
I really like the height and the secure lacing system.
My favorite winter boot for hiking and tracking.

Love my new hunting boots. They required no break-in time at all. I normally suffer for days or weeks getting a new shoe or boot to conform to my wide feet. These boots are great. So light and comfortable from day one. I had warm toes after 3 hours of tree stand sitting in 20f degree temperatures. The only thing I had to break-in was my foot placement climbing the skinny metal tree stand ladder. The sole treads are designed differently and a little harder than my old boots resulting in the ladder rung needing to be in the arch of the foot rather than under the ball. That being said, the sole isn't prone to collecting lots of debris and mud since they don't have huge lugs. The insulated topsides are soft enough for comfort while providing ankle support on rough terrain. Thick or thin socks made no difference in the comfort level. A bonus is they are an attractive boot as well. Very happy with my purchase and Danner customer service is excellent should you want to talk to a human for selection advise or suggestions.

Bought 9and wore) these for a photo trip in Iceland at the end of January; weather was really not fun--rain, cloudy, cold most of the time. Feet were always warm and comfortable, without over-heating. Not crazy about the exterior pattern, and I may spray paint them black, or dark green. Not into chamo.
