The boot provide very good ankle support while walking delivering mail/packages for USPS as a City Carrier PTF. Since they are a wild land fire fighter boot the soles only last about 8 months while walking on paved streets and cement. The boots are sized well so I can comfortably wear heavier work socks.

I have worn work boots for almost 30 years. I recently moved to a job where these boots are a necessity. I have always worn a 9.5 regular in various brands. With these boots I had to buy an 11.5 EE. So after sending my first pair back for not fitting I finally found a store that carried them and bought after I tried on a pair. Would have been nice if they were sized appropriately.

I worked wildland fire for the Forest Service in a lighter duty job (think Engine, not handcrew). I really liked these boots, they didnt need any break in and I hate the logger style boots I couldn't ever get past the heel pinch. The only disappointing thing was the grommets did break especially at the part nearest to my ankle. I got a replacement pair from Danner and it didn't happen again- however I was more careful to not toss them around after the first pair. Wore with thick wool socks, so yea my feet would sweat, but I wasnt getting blisters so didn't bother me since your hot all the time anyways. Also held up good against wet meadowy areas, my feet would be dry.
