Carhartt B147 - Loose Fit Canvas Utility Work Short - 10 Inch

I've had 6 or more pairs of these shorts, and wear them for general construction, home maintenance,landscaping, and recreation. I like them a lot, they are comfortable and relatively durable, though i wish Carhartt still offered shorts in the original duck fabric (like their bibs) which were considerably more durable.

Like the side pockets for iPhone on my right and glass case on my left. Not sure what the extended loop on the right side is for (maybe a screwdriver)? Deep pockets, great. Overall very satisfied.

I stumbled upon my first pair of these shorts almost 20 years ago when shopping at the local feed & grain store and I've relied on them for daily wearing throughout most of Spring, Summer and most of Fall here in SoCal. The best feature is the large side pocket on the right side which perfectly fits my phone. The quality is superior and I still have those first shorts i bought 20 years ago and add to my inventory each year. I highly recommend these shorts for anyone working in a hot climate and will continue to buy them for years to come.

Great fit especially for guys who like comfortable room in the seat and hips. The current trend in men's clothing has neglected the comfort for the tight look of the more youthful, model type man. These shorts were the only loose fit options available. There are relaxed fit options, and I have those as well, but on occasion, the relaxed fit crowds the boys which makes sitting for extended periods of time slightly uncomfortable. I don't notice that with the loose fit. I do wish the loose fit style came with an additional pocket that would be like a pocket found on cargo shorts. An inch longer inseam would be nice too. It is interesting that the waist size is perfect on this order, but when I tried on the similar size in store, the waist was 2 inches too small.

Normally I am a Jean shorts 🩳 guy but I took a chance and tried these canvas type shorts. Very surprised! They fit well, all the pockets are double stitched, and the belt loops are extra thick and secured well. I got the “loose” fit as they really give extra room to move around in and flexible. I would definitely buy this again. I found it on the monthly mailer over the summer!
