Carhartt 101988 - El Paso Utility Jacket

I ordered this jacket online, so I wasn't able to try it on first. I liked the way it looked and my friend who works in construction recommended I try Carhartt because I am always cold. This jacket is HUGE, but otherwise perfect. I'm 5'2" and weigh 115, and the smallest size is very loose/baggy in the body and wide in the arms (the arms are not too long though). I probably would not have bought this jacket if I tried it on in a store because it is so baggy, but I'm glad I kept it. It's the perfect midweight for chilly/windy spring weather, and is reasonably wind and water resistant. The fabric is high quality and the jacket is well made--there's mesh ventilation in the shoulders so your armpits don't overheat, but it still keeps me warm. The pockets are amazing. Even the pockets have pockets to keep your hands warm, and all the pockets lie flat so they don't look silly. I called customer service to see if I could exchange it for a smaller size, and the sales representative was super helpful and nice. They don't do exchanges officially, but she offered to arrange free return shipping and free shipping on a different size. When we discovered that the El Paso doesn't come any smaller, she went through other options with me to try to find something similar. I ended up liking the El Paso the most so I kept it. So far I'm very pleased with my first Carhartt purchase!
